Priyanka Chopra was born on July 18, 1982 at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand to Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Akhauri. She has a brother Siddharth, who is 7 years younger. Being the first girl child in the extended family, she grew up amidst the love of grandparents and other family members. At home, she was nicknamed Mimi.
While she was born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, she also spent her childhood in Rae Barreilly, in Uttar Pradesh as well as in Lucknow, where she was enrolled in the La Martiniere Girls' School. She also studied at St. Maria Goretti in Bareilly, and later went to the United States, where she was a student at Newton North High School in Newton, Massachusetts and North Delta Senior Secondary School in North Delta before returning to India to complete high school at Army School (Bareilly). She joined Jai Hind College in Mumbai to pursue degree course but left the college after winning Miss India title.

Though his lady love Kareena Kapoor walked out on him, Shahid Kapoor doesn't have any dearth of ladies ... though professionally. Shahid Kapoor has been signed for a full-on feel-good love story by none other than Vishal Bharadwaj, opposite former miss world Priyanka Chopra. Bharadwaj had last made a pain-lashed Shakespearean love story with Ajay Devgan and Kareena Kapoor in Omkara. And he is quick to say that his next movie is not a new version of Romeo & Juliet. Shelving plans of making a bio-pic on the life of the Bollywood stunt queen Fearless Nadia, Vishal Bhardwaj has now embarked on another more contemporary cinematic journey. After making a pain-lashed Shakespearean love story with Ajay Devgan and Kareena Kapoor, he has now moved on to Kareena's ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor and her arch -rival Priyanka Chopra for a full-on feel-good love story.However contrary to reports Vishal's film is NOT a new version of Romeo & Juliet. . "People would love to see me complete my Shakespearean trilogy after Macbeth (Maqbool) and Hamlet (Omkara). But I'm not doing Romeo & Juliet," says Vishal. While Shahid is confirmed, Priyanka currently shooting in Miami for Tarun Mansukhani's Dostana is still in talks. She is expected to give her nod when she returns to Mumbai in May. For the boyish Shahid, the shortage of leading ladies after Kareena's departure acquires an interesting twist with co-stars as varied as Vidya Balan, Jiah Khan and now Priyanka Chopra coming up besides him
